About . . .

Burnham Community Church

As a community church we seek to serve the needy in the local community in various ways. As well as prayer, it is our desire as a church to love as Jesus loved by practically meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of those in the community around us.

We are committed to being a loving family regardless of age, gender, race, ability, education or wealth and the care and building up of one another.

In our Sunday morning service worship, Bible teaching and prayer ministry play a central part. We believe these are vital for spiritual growth and for building our relationship with God. There is also plenty of time for fellowship over a tea or coffee, where we all get a chance to get to know each other more and enjoy each other’s company.

In addition to our Sunday morning service (including Sunday School groups for children and youth), we have various meetings during the week. These include:

  • Cell Groups where everyone is encouraged to attend, as this is where we can share faith, encourage and pray for each other, and look outwardly together for ways to reach others with the Gospel
  • Ladies Group . In this meeting ladies of all ages can get together to fellowship, worship and discuss the Word of God and receive ministry
  • Men's Group Men need companionship and fellowship. We need to build up each other through spending time together. A varied mix of Curry and Chinese nights, and various other social get togethers enable good relationships to be forged within the men in the Church and area.
  • Youth Stuff! There is a lot going on for our youth and young adults including: Overload, Radi8, Radi8-Street, a new in development stage up-and-comming Ministry Training School. See the youth pages for more info... .
  • Rise and Pray. If you're awake at 7am on a Saturday morning you could join us to pray for our church and the surrounding area.
  • Worship Team. A weekly meeting for musicians for fellowship and practice.

"There is a real family attitude here which really shows me how much God loves us." Mark

Communicating the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world is our commission. Through our words and our lifestyle and by practical means we are learning to express God’s love and values to our society.
